Alex Borstein also known as Alexandra ‘Alex’ Borstein is a very popular American actress, voice actress, writer and comedian also.
Borstein was born in Highland Park, Illinois to Judy and Irving Borstein. He parents are mental health professionals. She is of Jewish ancestry. She attended San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California.
At the ACME Comedy Theater, Borstein got training in improve. It was the place where she met her writing partner and future husband Jackson Douglas. They next began working together on the animated series ‘Casper’ and ‘Pinky and the Brain’. In 1996, Borstein worked on the show Power Rangers: Zeo as the voiceover of Queen Machina, the queen of the Machine Empire.
In 1997, Borstein joined the third season of the sketch comedy show MADtv. Initially, she was thought to play a featured player, but was later upgraded to the repertory. Throughout her acting career, Borstein is best known for her portrayal of Ms. Swan. Among her recurring appearances are Eracist Anne, “Stick Chick” Echo, singer Jasmine Wayne-Wayne, child prodigy Karen Goddard, lounge singer Shaunda, News at Six’s outside-the-studio reporter Sue Napersville, and Cordo the GAP troll.
On the set of MADtv, Borstein met Seth MacFarlane and he cast her as the voice of key character Lois Griffin. Borstein also serves as a producer and staff writer for ‘Family Guy’. On the Comedy Central animated series ‘Drawn Together’, she made three guest appearances, once as Lois Griffin.
In 2000, Alex Borstein joined the cast of the WB drama ‘Gilmore Girls’ and also made recurring appearances on the show.
Borstein’s film roles include the school principal in The Lizzie McGuire Movie. She next portrayed the best friend of Halle Berry’s character in Catwoman. On the CBS News’ Good Night, and Good Luck, Borstein portrayed the role of an employee. She also had an uncredited cameo in the ‘Kicking & Screaming’, portraying an obnoxious coffee shop patron.
In the 2007 sitcom pilot ‘The Thick of It’, Borstein appeared as a press secretary. Borstein owns a production company named Crackerpants, Inc..
